unexpected beauty (andrew vilar)

One of the most truthful, albeit cliched, things I have heard my entire life is "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Its truth lies in the fact that beauty is not always an agreeable and easily boxed definition, and as individuals our personal beliefs, natural curiosities, interests and backgrounds play a huge part in what we may define as beauty. This assignment definitely makes it a point to showcase the different definitions of beauty.

Life Size T-REx Skeleton (Cerritos, CA)
I find anatomy, specifically the Skeleton to be amazingly beautiful.

I came across this dead beetle while out for an afternoon walk, I found its colors and final resting position to be very beautiful

Powerlines are all around us and their strong and overpowering presence have become a simple part of the landscape, but when viewed up close there is an undeniably beauty about the symmetry and lines of its body.

I always find beauty in the breakdown. So I was instantly drawn to this condemned building while on vacation in Hawaii last year. From every angle, this building was amazing to photograph. The years had stripped it of its floors, roof, interior and windows, it was a mere shell of what it once was and from every angle it was beautiful.

I thought the complementary color harmony that appeared while driving through this tunnel in LA was beautiful.
