I found an artist by the name of Michael "Pooch" Pucciarelli whose art is similar to--but a little different than--the Art of Skinner.

It's definitely worth a glance and a stumble.

you can pull the pictures and then post them on your profile. poor white boys got no internet.

Final

This is a fish that I made out of old cd's, wire hangers, a slurpee cup top, fishing line, and twist ties from the supermarket. When seen from the inside, the fish looks like it is consumed with garbage, which represents the polluted ocean it dwells in.

IMAGES OF NAILS: I'm fascinated by human history. When i saw these nails i thought about how people in the future, if for whatever reason we were to vanish, would try to figure out how and for what these strange objects were used. Historians and people who excavate ind ancient objects in the dirt and try to describe or interpret how they may have been used. Same idea here. The beauty is in the mystery of what is an ordinary object to us but is as mysterious as any ancient artifact to other human beings in a distant future.

IMAGES OF JUNK: I was helping a friend of mine clean out his garage. He basically told me that he was trying to get rid of a bunch of junk. When we began to take everything out he began to notice items that he had not seen for quite some time. As we were going through what he wanted to get rid of he would tell me a brief history of certain items. He began to reminisce. Each item carried a memory from a past experience. I felt that was the beauty. Not the items or junk but the fact that they in some way contained memories. To re-live something even for a brief moment is an interesting and beautiful experience.
IMAGES OF PLANT: This was a thought that i had and then i went looking for it. I thought about all the plant life that grows around us on a daily basis. I especially thought of all the plant life that grew regardless of it's environment. In this case this plant is growing through a crack. Whats so beautiful about this is the need and want to live. Life is happening all around us even if we cant see it or don't pay any mind to it. Like in this case, a plant growing through a gap in between concrete. The will to continue to grow overcame the rough conditions around this plant and it grew against all odds.

Unexpectedly Beautiful

These first two photos are from a Dodger game. It was after the game and it was very dark. The parking lot was a disaster after the 52,000 fans were leaving that night. I stopped to take a photo because it was beautiful to me. All the cars in the parking lot created so much light and I was hoping to capture it. Although I only had a small digital camera so the pictures came out blurred. I find the blurred photos more beautiful, to me it looks like fire.
The last two photos are of a seed I sprouted. It's beautiful to me because I created it. I gave this seed life. I planted it in an old class jar. Nothing was purchased. I only used recycled materials. To me it is beautiful to create something out of nothing.

Unexpected Beauty

I took these pictures outside of my apartment building, in downtown Long Beach. This is the area where we dump our trash, but even though it's used for garbage, the alley is still very clean. The trash can is placed in the perfect position for all everyone to reach, and there is one tree that grows directly behind it. If you could see this spot for yourself, it really looks like a scene from a movie.

Sunken City

I took this pictures on my recent trip too a place that has many names but me and my friends call it SUNKEN CITY. The legend goes that a community in san pedro that was right next too the ocean and the cliffs had fallen off the side of the hill and had sunk a big portion of the neighborhood. Now what is left is a big field that is filled with twisted metal and cement slabs everywhere that is filled with graffiti and lots of history.

The reason that i picked this particular place too show beauty in something that you usually would just pass by and not even notice is because i had been here before a few years ago and now came back too it. Now that i am older and dont have much time too spend just hanging out with friends and going too a place like this it is easier too me too see the beauty in just playing around like kids in such a fun and exotic place. I have never seen something like this. It is so beautiful too see all the graffiti that has built up over the years and all the history within this place. All the other people that have found this almost secret place. When i came back and wanted too take pictures too capture some of that magic that you feel when you go there. You just have too go there and see it for your self.

Horrifyingly Beautiful

When the phrase “Beautiful things you wouldn’t expect to be beautiful” comes to mind, I can think of only one thing, my love of horror games, namely the Silent Hill Series, and the work of Francis Bacon.
I love the way that each of the artists has a really beautiful ability to amplify the intensity and power and mood for the viewer. You walk away from looking at the works affected in some way.
In my opinion, I think few people would see these games as intensely beautiful as I see them. Even Francis Bacon, someone with very little formal art training, was not accepted at first, as he shocked his viewers with grotesque images and paintings.

{This is a link I sent to my sister not too long ago. It’s a link of the gallery and models made by the lead creature modeler of some of the Silent Hill games.}
