IMAGES OF NAILS: I'm fascinated by human history. When i saw these nails i thought about how people in the future, if for whatever reason we were to vanish, would try to figure out how and for what these strange objects were used. Historians and people who excavate ind ancient objects in the dirt and try to describe or interpret how they may have been used. Same idea here. The beauty is in the mystery of what is an ordinary object to us but is as mysterious as any ancient artifact to other human beings in a distant future.

IMAGES OF JUNK: I was helping a friend of mine clean out his garage. He basically told me that he was trying to get rid of a bunch of junk. When we began to take everything out he began to notice items that he had not seen for quite some time. As we were going through what he wanted to get rid of he would tell me a brief history of certain items. He began to reminisce. Each item carried a memory from a past experience. I felt that was the beauty. Not the items or junk but the fact that they in some way contained memories. To re-live something even for a brief moment is an interesting and beautiful experience.

IMAGES OF PLANT: This was a thought that i had and then i went looking for it. I thought about all the plant life that grows around us on a daily basis. I especially thought of all the plant life that grew regardless of it's environment. In this case this plant is growing through a crack. Whats so beautiful about this is the need and want to live. Life is happening all around us even if we cant see it or don't pay any mind to it. Like in this case, a plant growing through a gap in between concrete. The will to continue to grow overcame the rough conditions around this plant and it grew against all odds.
